So, today is my last day in the United States Marine Corps.  Oorah.  15 yrs ago, I dropped out of college studying music and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps at age 24.  My oldest daughter was only 8 months old.  I dropped her off to my mother and away I went. That was 2002, right after 911.  Off to Parris Island, I went for training.

There after, I went to my first unit, MWSS 272 NC.  3yrs later, off to Japan I went for 2yrs, then back to NC for 3 more years.  During that time, I got deployed to Afghanistan for 9 months, also deployed on board the ship iwojima for 6 months, went back to Japan for 4 more years and came back to NC Camp Lejuene for 3yrs.  It has been 15 years of honorable service and many sacrifices.     The whole experience had its ups and downs but that goes with anything.

I am looking forward to using the same level of honor, courage and commitment the military has instilled in me, to build C Liberia Clearly blog.  Growing up, entertainment was my life, but my journey took me to the military.  During my time in the military, I felt in love with media and writing.  I went back to college for Mass Communication.  Today, I am a published author of two poetry books "Purple Honey Lips" and "Landing Safety On A Solid" and I am the proud owner of a thriving blog, my baby, my love, C Liberia Clearly.

Thanks to those love ones who had my back on this journey.  Thanks to my two beautiful daughters.  They have been the perfect kids.  It is not an easy task, being a single parent in the military, but my kids made it easy.

A lot of people out there are stuck in life because they always think help comes from millionaires up there. Maybe you can learn from me and my life journey. My uncle was a rich millionaire and one of the first black businessman in Zimbabwe.

He owned half of what has become Makoni Shopping Centre Jamaica Inn in Melfort, Ruwa farms, numerous blocks of flats,night clubs etc When I was expelled for school fèes and I approached him for $30 then I never got a response from him maybe because he was not accessible or he did not believe education was worth funding at all.

Slowly I realised that opportunities do not come from up there. I realised that opportunities I could explore were right where I was. I then got support from a Roman Catholic nun from Germany who paid for my school fees whilst I worked privately at the school.

Yes we have millionaires at the top. We have the rich and famous and with big names. But also around you there are opportunities which you can explore. There is need to be more creative and innovative. With most girls who did very well and up there, they found an opportunity from me as their teacher.

They wanted $30 for school fees and this is what otherwise what could have stopped them being top women that they are today.So the empowerment programme I founded for girls is very much about putting the power of you to make a breakthrough. There is not going to be a millionaire amongst us for centuries to come but there is going to be community leadership that is creative and innovative about solutions.

We are not going to wait for big donors only but we will keep working with each one of us giving a pound each. When you build your community value your contribution and make sure whatever is there is utilised to the full.I am here because a kind person in the community and not my millionaire uncle. But dont get me wrong here;I am not saying don't ask from the rich. Not at all. i am simply saying community where you live has many good people too.

Sextuplets thriving after delivery at Virginia hospital.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Virginia hospital says its staff has successfully delivered sextuplets and the three boys and three girls are thriving.

VCU Medical Center in Richmond announced the births in a statement Wednesday, saying they were the first sextuplets delivered at the hospital. The babies were born May 11 to parents who had tried to conceive for 17 years.

The statement says a 40-person team was involved and the delivery required hours of planning. Ajibola Taiwo, a native of Nigeria, gave birth via cesarean section.

The babies ranged from 1 pound, 10 ounces, to 2 pounds, 15 ounces.

Sextuplets are quite rare. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, of the nearly 4 million live births in the U.S. in 2015, only 24 were quintuplets or other higher-order births.
